I did send you a note about your software. It was about the fact that you put out a good piece of software, but "free" means free to me, not free with "pop-ups." I was getting pop-ups asking me to buy your software when I downloaded the free version. Not cool trying to trick people into downloading your product and then blasting them with pop-ups reminding them to buy the Pro Version.

I love the CHRONOS program. It works well.
I first downloaded the free version from After I determined that the program would do what I needed it to do I TRIED to buy the PRO version. I followed the link on the pop-up (Buy the PRO version). I paid my $14.95... ($9.95 for the program and $4.95 service fee) and downloaded the PRO version but still had the "nag screens". I had turned off the free version and un-installed it before downloading the pro version. After still getting the nag screens for a few days, I tried again... again turning off the free version, deleting it and downloading the only version that was available a the link... and paying another $14.95. I still had the nag screens. I got an email from someone at the software company who suggested turning off the free version and un-installing it before downloading the new version (I had done that on both attempts). I did that again but the only version available at the link was the free version. On my THIRD try (and THIRD $14.95) I belive I MAY have been successful in getting the PRO version. I don't know for sure. I just did that this morning and don't know yet whether there will be nag screens of not yet. The company said they would refund the second $14.95 and I assume that they did (or will)... about the THIRD $14.95??
CHRONOS is a good program. I work on a radio network that has about 150 affiliates. They could ALL use something like CHRONOS to keep their local computers synced with the network's computer. I would recommend this program to them but if I shared my experience with them, I doubt that many would consider buying it. If you could make the download simplier it would be a lot better.
My three invoice numbers are:
It shouldn't be this much trouble or take this much time to download a program.

This is very good clock syn program. It would be much better if there is the exitence of good instruction how to config and deploy.

It’s really good software but I seem that it can’t detect the time zone. So, develop or create a section to detect time zone by location.

Handy little free utility that sets the clock very accurately. Great feature is that you can vary the refresh period to your choice. Pity it doesn't also have an option to resync the clock on every system boot up.

Does not work ideally in combination with Vista, as the feature in Vista which blocks unauthorized start-up programs, also blocks Chronos and asks for a confirmation before running it. This spoils the pleasure of having Chronos and I'm considering to uninstall it.

seamed to work well. but did not appreciate the program accessing the Internet without my permission and asking for a money payment for the free version.

Chronos Atomic Clock Synchroniser

I don't like popups. Within the few first hours this programs gives you popups. After two popups I removed this program. I now use Atomic clock sync. This is a free tool and does the same job. I think CACS needs another business case for this tiny program.

I use this just for fun.

It's a cool prog. I like my computers clock always sharp. Since Windows XP I don't need external program for that. But I like to see when my comp's clock is synced with many time servers not just one. Also I can set up the sync intervals much more easyer then with windows.
- what kind of tasks would you solve with this program?
Having fun.
- how this program helps to solve your task? I have.

Best atomic clock program.

In my opinion this is the best program of this kind. Full of features, easy to use, it interrogates a whole list of servers and gives the latency times of each. For the obsessive compulsive gadget lover, this is a dream come true. Can't ask for anything better!

Chronos reveiw.

The programme worked well and performed the task that I wanted it to - which was to synchronise my computer clock. The next time I turned my computer on it displayed an error message and said that it had to quit and has done so each time since then that I have turned my computer on. The reason I downloaded the chronos programme was because my computer would not synchronise with windows. Time. Com and the timestamp on my emails was wrong, which I wanted to correct. Since it has done what I wanted I'm happy, but as it will no longer open I am unsure what effect that will have once day light savings begins.

What's up with that pop up?

When I recieved the pop-up ubout upgrading to avoid recieving the pop-up I uninstalled it. But, in the short time I used it, what was missing was the option to have the program close after it syncronizes.

Or, perhaps give the option to let the program run in the background hidden from the sytem tray-I have too many things showing there already.

Not the ultimate utility, yet

1) The free version keeps nagging for upgrade once every hour. If this would have been disclosed as a feature, I wouldn't have bothered to download, let alone install the utility. This is nag-ware - not share-ware

2) Chronos can only synchronize on set intervals, driven by the clock. It assumes that there is a network connection available at these times. Fine, may be, for an always-on office computer, but note for notebooks / other systems that are off for (prolonged) periods. It lacks the facility to find actual time when an IP connections opens.

Have removed Chronos, will keep looking
